STEPPING ON

A celebration, a showcase of fanfare, serene entertainment, awesome networking, organizational cohesion and ultimately sporting excellence, these adjectives simply summarize all that transpired at the Agege Stadium venue of the Second Biennial Inter-house sports competition of Arit Private School.

It was nice to be part of history, in the words of the Proprietress, it seemed to many that the school might be going too far with the Agege stadium vision but with the benefit of hindsight, it was indeed a splendid and accurate decision to have taken the school’s 2nd biennial inter-house sports to the soccer temple.

IMPRESSIVE TURNOUT

The turnout was very impressive, the parents made time out to rejoice with the school and celebrate with their children and they all “turned up” in their neatly branded purple T-shirts. The children were well dressed in the colours of their ‘sporting houses’ while the tutors and management had orange fitted tops with white caps with the school’s inscription.

The event commenced brightly with an innovation of class with the ceremonial display by the children while the chairman’s speech and Proprietress’ (Mrs Titilayo Oyebowale) welcome address followed suit.

Mrs. Oyebowale enjoined the participants to cultivate the spirit of fair play during the competition and reminded those present of the grace that God has given Arit Private School to break barriers and set new standards in the areas of academics, sports and music which ultimately give students an overall balanced lifestyle.

There were varieties of competitions for the children and their parents and teachers weren’t left out of the fun and physical activities.

It was an atmosphere of celebration, interaction and networking as well. The fiesta knew no bounds as friends, well-wishers, invitees, parents, children alike were treated to sumptuous meals and drinks with classic entertaining music from the quintessential Police band.

THE SPONSORS

One of the high points of this year’s event was the coming on board of notable Official Sponsors in the likes of GTBank, Diamond Bank, UBA group, Zenith Bank, FrieslandCompina, Nestle Milo, Ribena, Dudu, MTN, Airtel and loads of other Sponsors that associated themselves with this laudable event.

THE COMPETITION

The competition among the students was intense, the spectators were ecstatic and the children gave their all on the tracks and at the end of hostilities everyone had nothing but applause for all the competitors. The standout performances during the competition came from the blue house (Zircon), they left no one in doubt of what their intentions were-they were gunning for the title they narrowly lost to Green house (Emerald) during the Inaugural edition of the School’s inter house sports. Red house (Ruby) also gave a good account of themselves but Yellow house (Topaz) it was that really made a real competition out of all the events as they went head-to-head with blue house but ultimately none of the houses could stop the rampaging Zircons.
