She will face Jelena Ostapenko, who hardly broke sweat as she powered past Slovakia’s Dominika Cibulkova and into the Wimbledon semi-finals for the first time in her career.

Serena Williams extended her unbeaten run at Wimbledon to 19 matches, coming from behind to beat unseeded Italian Camila Giorgi 3-6 6-3 6-4.Williams, seeking her eighth title at the All England Club, prevailed in an hour and 43 minutes. She will face Julia Goerges in the semi-final
