Former World Number One Roger Federer has returned to the top of world men’s tennis ranking, this was one of the highlights of the ATP rankings released on Monday 14th May 2018.He replaced Rafa Nadal who returned to the top some weeks ago. Rafa had prospered on his beloved clay winning every major clay court event until he surprisingly lost his 21 match winning streak to Dominic Thiem in the Quarter-final of the Madrid 1000 Masters’ event.

Federer’s ascendancy to the top of men’s tennis might be short-lived because he will miss the entire clay court season including the French open grand slam. So Nadal might return to win another clay tourney that might propel him back to the top, In third place is the irrepressible German Alexander Zverev
