It would’ve been one of the shocks of the Serie A season, but Benevento just couldn’t hold on against Juventus, the Old Lady eventually running out 4-2 winners after two late goals.
Paulo Dybala was the star of the show for the Bianconeri with a hat-trick, his first, a sublime effort from the edge of the area, opening the scoring just after the quarter hour.
Cheick Diabate levelled things up from almost on the goal line eight minutes later, but Dybala’s first penalty of the afternoon in first half stoppage time gave Juve the advantage at the break.
Diabate’s towering header from a corner restored parity and the hosts then kept their illustrious visitors comfortably at bay for 20 long minutes.
Another spot-kick for Dybala knocked the stuffing out of Benevento, and Douglas Costa finally made the game safe for Juve with an astonishing fourth into the top corner with six minutes left.
