Nigeria’s female basketball team coach, Sam Vincent has made plans to build on the team that won the Afrobasket Championship in Mali ahead of 2018 FIBA World Cup in Spain.

Vincent intends to retain most of the players and invite few players to form a formidable squad that can compete for the title.D’Tigress had an unbeaten run at the Afrobasket championship without losing any match.

They won the title on Sunday evening after defeating defending champions Senegal 65-48 in the final.By the virtue of qualifying for the final of the afrobasketwomen2017 , the D’Tigress booked a ticket to the FIBA Women’s world cup.

The 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, the 18th edition of FIBA’s premier international tournament for women’s national basketball teams, will be held in Spain from 22 to 30 September 2018. This will be the first edition to use the name of FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. After the last edition, FIBA changed the name of the competition from the FIBA World Championship for Women, in order to align its name with that of the corresponding men’s competition.
