CARLOS TEVEZ has hit out at Chinese footballers after being declared unfit to play.

The Argentine star, who earns a staggering £650,000-A-WEEK at Shanghai Shenhua, has been left out of the side because he is too “overweight.”

But the former Manchester United and City striker has hit back, slamming the quality of football on display.

He also reveals how the Chinese League will never be able to compete with the best nations.

Tevez said: “Chinese players are not as naturally skilled like South American or European players.

“Like players who learned football when they were kids. They’re not good.

“Even in 50 years, they still won’t be able to compete.”

Apart from the 33-year-old’s wage packet, his stint in China has been nothing short of a disaster.

Tevez has been booed by his own supporters for his lack of effort and has been slated by the club’s chairman.

Speaking to Shanghai TV, Wu Xiaohui said: “Our intention was to bring in an influential star player with high quality, and we all think Tevez could fit the bill.

“However, due to a lack of winter training and match fitness, he didn’t meet our expectations.”

Shanghai’s manager Wu Jingui also stuck the knife into Tevez by saying: “He is overweight, along with [Fredy] Guarin. I have to take responsibility for the team and the players as well.

“If you are unable do your utmost to play, there’s no point in picking you. I have coached lots of big stars, and my players are never picked on reputation.”
