Rangers International Football Club rue their failure to convert most of the their chances in the match day 17 fixtures against visiting Kwara United FC of Ilorin on Tuesday. The home side dominated play  at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, but wasted numerous opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net. The flying Antelopes were looking forward to redeem themselves from their narrow 0-1 defeat in the hands of Tornadoes in the last game.This draw keeps them tops of the second half of the table in 11th position , a position the gaffer Ogunbote believes must be turned around for good if the Club’s dreams of getting a continental ticket is to be achieved.

They occupy the seventh position on the NPFL table with 23 points from 16 matches played.



Sunshine Stars FC of Akure on  at the Akure township stadium defeated visiting Wikki Tourist of Bauchi by 2-1 . The sunshine boys went down to a lone strike from the visitors early in the encounter but rallied to claim the 3 maximum points with a goal on either half of the game .

Enterprising Abubakar Umar put the visitors ahead just 3 minutes after the commencement of the game, this sent a shock wave around the stadium and the boisterous Akure fans were given a rude awakening. Sunshine stars through Sikiru Alimi put Sunshine Stars back on level terms in the 16th minute.

The match ended on a stalemate in the first stanza but in the 73rd minute the home team finally put away one of their many scoring chances created, Seun Olulayo’s glorious cross in the box was met with a powerful header by Franklin Sasere, the ball sailed into the net leaving Wikki’s goal tender in no man’s land. The Bauchi lads mounted massive pressure to even the scoreline but the Akeredolu boys held firm to secure maximum points.
